Chinese New Year Superstitions

Design Rational

I choose paper because of its accessibility: it’s an ‘open’ material. We all have the same memories of paper, and I can use your experience to make you understand what I am saying.

Paper can fold and morph into different forms which implicate that ideas which are changing all the time but the essence remain the same.

Superstitious beliefs are either misunderstood or disappearing overtime. It is an intangible form that cannot really be preserved, so one can simply change the stories according to need and the origin of the stories are lost.
